Sustainable Westford and WA Intern (Emily) decided to launch the Tap WA-ter Initiative to promote water sustainability by raising awareness and funds for water bottle filling stations at the WA and around Westford. Help make access to clean, public drinking water available for all.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a New England Grassroots Environment Fund challenge grant of $1,000 for the Tap Water Initiative. The NEGEF grant funds would go towards the next water bottle filling station to be sited at a public location in our community.
Sustainable Westford’s Healthy Kids Coalition and the Westford Agricultural Commission partnered with Westford’s K-5 schools on October 24 in the Great Westford Lunch Crunch.
In celebration of National Food Day, the students in Westford’s K-5 schools made lots of noise crunching apples & carrots in celebration of good health and fresh food. Students were given a whole, locally-sourced fresh apple, carrot or other crunchy vegetable and simultaneously “crunched” with their classmates. Food Day is a national day of awareness building for healthy, affordable and sustainable food.
